Diane Louise Leland, 58, of Bedford, Va., and formerly of Ames, beloved wife, mother, sister and friend, died Tuesday, April 10. A memorial service was today at Updike Funeral Chapel in Bedford, Va., with the Rev. Robert McRea officiating.

Diane Louise Leland was born Sept. 11, 1948, in Ames, the daughter of Joel Everett Anderson and Louise Ida Millang Anderson. After graduating from Gilbert High School, she married Stan Leland March 14, 1970, at Little Brown Church in Nashua. She was a dedicated employee of 17 years at Village Family Physicians in Moneta, Va.

In addition to her husband of 37 years, she is survived by her daughter, Brandi Leland, of Salem, Va.; two brothers, Robert Anderson, of Cape Fair, Mo., and Ronald Anderson, of Dubuque; two sisters, Janet Colt and Joanne Lyttle, both of Ames; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Hospital Hospitality House, P.O. Box 10090, Richmond, VA 23240. Donations will be used to provide lodging and non-medical services for organ transplant recipients and their supporting family members. Please remember and honor Diane's wishes that everyone who is able should consider being an organ donor.

Updike Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Bedford, Va., was in charge of arrangements.
