THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, March 27, 2007.
Gregory Ralph Brown, 58, of Ames, died at home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Ames. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Boone.
Gregory Ralph Brown was born Oct. 21, 1948, in Boone, to Ezra Raymond and Lois (Casey) Brown. He was a graduate of Sacred Heart Catholic School and had lived in the Ames and Boone area his whole life. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was employed by Chicago Northwestern Railroad prior to his retirement. He was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Ames.
He is survived by his mother, Lois R. Brown, of Ames; three sisters, Janice (Wayne) Platt, of Climax Springs, Mo., Rita (Carroll) Viss, of Eldridge, and Michele T. Nelson, of Ames; 16 nieces and nephews; and 32 great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Raymond William Brown; one niece, Lisa Marie Moeller; and one great nephew, Michael Steven Jacoby.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Adams Funeral Home, with a scripture service at 7 p.m.
