THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, March 8, 2007.

Mary Jane Rickard, 87, of Gilbert, and formerly of New Sharon, passed away Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007. Services were held Friday, March 2, at Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell with interment at Chester Cemetery.

She is survived by her children, Roberta (Richard) Verwers, of Gladbrook, Marty (Linda) RicKard, of Fort Myers, Fla., Carol (Jerry) Skjordal, of Ames, Nancy Hose, of Star Valley Ranch, Wyo., and Michael (Nancy) Rickard of Traer; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Julia (Howard) Davis, of Oskaloosa, and Jo Anne (Ernest) Blankenfeld, of Grinnell.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph Robert Rickard; a grandson; two great-grandchildren; her brothers, Clive Ellett and Delbert Ellett; and her sister, Genevieve Needham.

Memorials may be directed to Union Mills Church in New Sharon.
