TRI COUNTY TIMES, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, March 1, 2007.

Helen L. Pratt, 94, died February 20, 2007, at Sunnyview Care Center in Ankeny. In accordance with her wishes, no services are planned and cremains will be buried at a later date.

Helen was born May 26, 1912 at Maxwell to Rollie & Grace Pearson. She attended Maxwell School and graduated in 1931. She married Reid Pratt from Red Oak in 1933. They moved to the west coast in 1936 and lived most of their married years in Washington and California where Reid died in 1991. Helen returned to Iowa in 2000 and made her home with her sister and husband, Dorothy and Wesley Longnecker of Cambridge. In 2004, due to failing health she became a resident of Sunnyview Care Center in Ankeny.

She was a life long reader and after her eyesight failed, she enjoyed books on tape. She loved animals and enjoyed bird watching.

Her husband, her parents, one sister, Colene Holtman and one brother, Donald R. Pearson, preceded Helen in death. Survivors include one sister, Dorothy (Wesley) Longnecker and several nieces & nephews.
