Olga Twedt, of Huxley died Wednesday, Feb. 28, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 3, at Fjeldberg Lutheran Church in Huxley. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 2, at the church.

Soderstrum-Riis Funeral Home in Slater is in charge of arrangements.

Olga E. Twedt, 92, of Huxley, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 3, at Fjeldberg Lutheran Church in Huxley with Pastor Tom Hilger officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 5, in Fjeldberg Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Olga Twedt was born Dec. 31, 1914, in Worchester, Mass., to John and Emma (Hammarstrom) Quarnstrom. She moved to Hudson, S.D., with her parents at two years of age. There she attended school, graduating valedictorian of her class. She married Bennie Twedt Jan. 10, 1935, in Hudson. Shortly after, they moved to Iowa and farmed in the Huxley and Cambridge area.

Prior to her death, she lived at Ballard Creek Community in Huxley where she enjoyed her many friends, family visits, quilting, card playing, crossword puzzles and many phone calls.

She is survived by four sons, Bert (Pat), of Slater, Ken (Carol), of Elkhart, John (Barb), of Cambridge, and Ron (Colleen), of Huxley; one daughter, Mary (David) Halverson, of Huxley; one daughter-in-law, Sharon Twedt, of Huxley; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; one brother, Ted Quarnstrom, of Hudson, S.D.; and one sister, Ruth Feeldy, of Grand Junction, Colo.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1995; and one son, Bob, in 2006.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday, March 3, at Fjeldberg Lutheran Church in Huxley.

Memorials may be given to the church.
