Leona Hohenberger of Ames, formerly of Grundy Center, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at Nevada Baptist Church, with burial at 1:30 p.m. in Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center.

Leona Hohenberger was born July 27, 1927, in Ackley, the daughter of Albert and Justena (Steinmeyer) Meyer. She attended Butler County Schools and graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1947. After high school, she worked at the Grundy Telephone Office for a number of years. She married Kenneth Hohenberger June 20, 1950, in Grundy Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Grundy Center and attended Nevada Baptist Church in recent years.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; one daughter, Laura Lillard and husband Steve, of Nevada; and one granddaughter, Justena Fletchall and husband Steven, of Ames.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, at Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada.

Memorials may be made to Nevada Baptist Church.
