Kurt Whattoff, 44, of Tyler, Texas, died Sunday, Dec. 31. Services are pending with Stewart Family Funeral Home of Tyler, Texas.

THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, January 4, 2007.

Kurt Whattoff, 44, of Tyler, Texas, died Sunday, Dec. 31, in Van Zandt County, Texas. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, at Stewart Family Funeral Home in Tyler, with Pastor Dan Tarno officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Jenkins, Jim Dillard and Jim Cornette.

Kurt Whattoff was born in Ames and graduated from Ames High School in 1981. He attended Iowa State University and the University of Dubuque, where he played football. He had a passion for sports, reading and working out. Kurt's love for life and people was contagious.

He was a member of Grace Bible Fellowship Baptist Church and was a partner of Merchant Payment Systems in Tyler, Texas.

He is survived by his loving family, including his father, Jon Whattoff, of Tyler; one brother, Kevin Whattoff and wife, Leiala, of California; grandparents, Murl and Wanda Whattoff; and many loving relatives.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Catherine Whattoff.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 tonight at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, Tyler, Texas.

Memorials in honor of Kurt Whattoff may be made to Grace Bible Fellowship Baptist Church to the Ministry of Celebrate Recovery, 17897 FM 1255, Canton, TX 75103.
