THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Sunday, December 3, 2006.

Elmer "Pete" Weuve, 88, of Nevada, died Friday, Dec. 1, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, at Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada.

A luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall. Private burial services will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Marshalltown.

Weuve was born Aug. 28, 1918, in State Center, the son of Fred and Bertha (Yingst) Weuve. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in State Center. He was married to Esther Breer on Sept. 19, 1940, in State Center. Esther died Oct. 30, 2002. They lived and farmed in Colo and Zearing. In 1965, they moved to Nevada where he became part owner of Weuve and Hanson in Nevada and State Center. In later years, he worked at Ihle Implement, International dealer at Nevada as a salesman. He also managed his own apartments. He was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada. He enjoyed playing cards and games.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Larry Krupp, of Nevada; two grandchildren, Kim (John) Bowen and Kris Krupp, both of Akeley, Minn.; one great-grandson, Zackery Sebastian Krupp; five brothers; and one sister.

He was preceeded in death by his parents, his wife, three brothers and one sister.

Visitation with the family will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, at the Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada.

Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada is in charge of arrangements.
