Kathleen Peery McGinnis, 94, of Nevada, died Saturday, Nov. 18, at Story County Long Term Care in Nevada. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, in the chapel of First United Methodist Church in Nevada, with the Rev. Steve Williams officiating.

Kathleen Peery McGinnis was born Nov. 24, 1911, in Jamesport, Mo., to William and Nell (Raines) Peery. She married Harley V. McGinnis Aug. 5, 1937, in Chillicothe, Mo. They were the owners of the Ben Franklin Store in downtown Nevada for many years. They were members of First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by seven nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harley, on May 28, 1998; and one sister, Elizabeth Brittain.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada is in charge of arrangements.
