Nevada newspaper. Clay C Taylor, 85, Nevada, died Sunday, Nov 30,1986 at Des Moines General Hospital. Services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec 2, at Cooper-Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Forest Chaffee, Nevada Memorial Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery. Clay Taylor was born Jan 26, 1901 in Ames to William and Nellie (Lanning) Taylor. On Sep 14, 1935 he married Evelyn Sherk in Boone. He farmed and spent most of his lifetime in Story County. He was a member of the Memorial Lutheran Church, Nevada. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn, a son, Craig of Nevada, a daughter, Karen Klopping of Nevada; two sisters, Margaret Sherk of Nevada, and Elizabeth Valine of Ames; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother, John, and a sister, Lydia White. Friend may call at Cooper-Ryan Funeral Home, Fifth Street and Lincoln Way, nevada, until time of service.
