Harry "Bud" Sherk, 79, Nevada, died of heart failure on Friday, July 12, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines. A Masonic service will be held 8:30 p.m. tonight at the Ryan Funeral Home. Services will be held 1:30 p.m., Tusday, Aug 16, at the United Methodist Church in Nevada with the Rev Donald Forbes, Calvary United Methodist Church, Ames, officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery. Harry Sherk was born June 8, 1904, at Grand Junction, to Henry Albert and Cora Wright Sherk. He was educated in the Nevada community schools, on July 29, 1929 he married Margaret Taylor. Mr Sherk was a longtime Nevada resident and worked for the Nevada Poultry Company before his retirement. He was affiliated with the United Methodist Church of Nevada and a member and Past Master of the Nevada Masonic Lodge #99 A.F. and A.M., and was Past Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star. He was a 50-year member of the Indian Creek Golf and Country Club of Nevada. Survivors include his wife, Margaret; two sisters, Evelyn Taylor, Ames, and Iola Applegate, Nevada, and nieces and nephews.
