Margaret "Marge" Sherk, 88, of Ames, formerly of Nevada, died of heart failure Saturday at the Green Hills Health Care Center. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 pm. at Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada, with the Rev James W King of the First United Methodist Church in Nevada officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. Margaret "Marge" Taylor was born in Ames, the daughter of William and Mellie (Lanning) Taylor. On July 29, 1929 she married Harry E. "Bud" Shrek in Tama. He preceded her in death July 12, 1983. A lifelong resident of Story County, Mrs Shrek had been a resident at Green Hill Health Care Center since 1987. She had been an abstractor for Ratman Sayers Abstract. Mrs Shrek was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Nevada and the Nevada Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of the Past Matron's Club of the Order of the Eastern Star and a charter member of the Indian Creek Country Club. Her husband, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today at the Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m.
