Ames Tribune Jan 17, 1903 - Nov 2, 1999 Norma Haverly Bennett, 96, of Roseville, Minn., died Saturday of respiratory failure in Roseville, Minn. Funeral services were today at Roseville Memorial Chapel, in Roseville, Minn., with the Rev Alexander A Aiton officiating. Burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery with graveside services at 1 pm Wednesday. Norma Haverly Bennett was born on Jan 17, 1903, in Ames, the daughter of John W and Nellie E (Epperson) Haverly. She was a resident of Ames until 1935 and graduated from Ames High School in 1920. She also resided in Bethany, MO in 1935; Marion, Des Moines, Milwaukee, Wis, ,St Paul, Minn. in 1942 to 1976, and Roseville, Minn since 1976. She worked as a secretary for three years in the office of President Raymond Pearson of Iowa State College; was a secretary for a year in the horticulture department office; was a secretary in the Iowa State Highway Commission maintenance department for a year; in 1960 accepted a position as a secretary for six years in the military offices of Univac in St Paul, Minn. She married Roy E Bennett on June 17, 1925 in Nashua. She was a member of St John's By the Campus Episcopal Church, and also was a member of St Christopher's Episcopal Church in Roseville, Minn. Survivors include one daughter, Linda Espelien of Forest Lake, Minn; two sons, Wallace Bennett of Fargo, ND and Philip Bennett of Roseville, Minn; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; one brother; one sister. Adams Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
