Donald R Mason, 50, of 953 49th St, Moline, died at 6:03 yesterday evening at Lutheran Hospital after a brief illness. He was owner and operator of the North Shore Inn on Rock River. Born Feb 17, 1913 in Ames, Iowa, he lived in Moline the last 46 years. He attended the Moline schools. He was the son of Orie and Nettie Haverly Mason. Mr Mason was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Moline VFW and American Legion posts. He was a member of the Moline Tavern Owners Assn. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Mr and Mrs Robert H Webb of Moline, with whom he made his home. Also surviving are two brothers, Russell H of Moline; Robert D of St Petersburg, Fla, two nieces and a nephew. His father preceded him in death. Services will be at 1:30 Monday afternoon in the Esterdhal Chapel, the Rev Ellis Youngdahl officiating. Burial will be in Moline Memorial Park Cemetery.
