Nov. 29, 1920-Nov. 7, 2006Frances I. Pearson, 85, of Madrid, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, of heart problems at Bethany Life Communities Nursing Home in Story City. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Madrid, with burial at 3 p.m. in Graceland Cemetery in Creston.
Frances Pearson was born Nov. 29, 1920, in Creston. She married in 1946 to the late Eldon Pearson for 54 years, and they resided in Madrid where Frances taught elementary school for many years before she retired due to health problems. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Madrid and a former member of the Creston Eastern Star. She enjoyed family activities, talking with friends, teaching young children and musical events.
She is survived by two sons and their wives, Vic and Diane Pearson, of Lincoln, Neb., and Vern and Jeane Pearson, of St. Paul, Minn.; four grandchildren, Chad Pearson, of Elgin, Ill., Kara Harkins, of Linco1n, Neb., Lauren Pearson, of St. Paul, Minn., and Heather Hubbard, of Fort Dodge; and one great-grandchild, Alaina Harkins, of Lincoln, Neb.; and one sister-in-law, Eloise Pearson, of Madrid.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Madrid.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church, Creston; St. John's Lutheran Church, Madrid; Madrid E1ementary School; or Madrid Public Library.
