THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Saturday, November 4, 2006.

Jan. 9, 1930 - Nov. 2, 2006

Beryl Wisecup, 76, of Boone, passed away Thursday, Nov. 2, at the Boone County Hospital in Boone. She had been a resident at the Evangelical Free Church Home in Boone since October 2004. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 6, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Boone, with Bishop Peterson officiating. Interment will be in Mineral Ridge Cemetery north of Boone.

Wisecup was born Jan. 9, 1930, in a log cabin in Boone County, the daughter of Fred and Clara (Ellsbury) Tilley. On Aug. 16, 1950, she married Clifford G. Wisecup at Nashua.

Wisecup attended country schools until the age of 10 when she started school in Boone. She was a graduate of Boone High School and following graduation attended business school. She was a homemaker.

Wisecup was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she held many positions including Sunday school teacher, secretary, president, music chairman, choir member, choir director and district missionary. Wisecup loved to research genealogy and assisted the state genealogy library in Ames. She enjoyed sports, camping, fishing, watching baseball and basketball, playing games, gardening, flowers, music and dancing.

Survivors include two daughters, Colleen (Mike) Farley, of Boone and Millie (Bob Jr.) Abbott, of Ogden; two granddaughters, Kerry Farley, of Ankeny and Michelle Farley, of Sheldon; one grandson, Sean Farley, of Ames; an aunt and uncle, Bob and Alice Tilley, of Boone; and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents; husband, Clifford in June 1984; one son, Kenneth Wisecup in January 2004; and one brother, Earl Tilley in February of 1994, preceded her in death.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, at the Stark-Welin Chapel in Boone, with the family present to greet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Visitation will continue from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the church.
