THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, October 31, 2006.

Merle C. Twedt, 96, died Saturday, Oct. 28, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, at Salem Lutheran Church in Roland. Burial will be in Roland Cemetery.

Merle is survived by his children, Susan Twedt, of Marshalltown, Jim and his wife, Sue, of Boone, and Judy and her husband, Tim LaBarge, of Wausau, Wis., and their two children, Jennifer and Lindsay LaBarge. He also is survived by one sister, Mayme Grindem; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 tonight at Salem Lutheran Church.

Soderstrum Funeral Homes in Story City is in charge of arrangements.
