Mildred Clarice Thompson, 89, of Osage, died Monday, Oct. 2, at Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 6, at First United Methodist Church in Osage, with the Rev. Dr. J. Samuel Subramanian officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Story City Cemetery.Mildred was born April 21, 1917, in Story City, the daughter of Nels and Mabel (Thompson) Mathiason. She graduated from Story City High School in 1935. She married Charles T. Thompson March 12, 1941, in Story City. They moved to Osage in 1967.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Maas, of Maple Grove, Minn., and Linda Thompson, of Mason City; one son, Steven Thompson, of Osage; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Celia (Arlon) Nessa, of Hubbard.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles T. Thompson, in 1997; an infant son, Charles Steven Thompson; one brother, Emery Mathiason; and one son-in-law, Ronald Maas.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage, and will continue one hour before services at the church on Friday.
