Dennis R. Ball, 59, of Ames, went peacefully to be with his son, Terry, and his family in heaven Wednesday, Sept. 27. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 2, at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames. Burial will be in Story Memorial Gardens in Ames.

Denny was born June 1, 1947, in Ames, to Clifford and Dorothy Ball. He married Sandra Desher, and to this union two sons were born, Terry and Tony. He later married Joanna Stark. For the past 15 years, he has been with Sue Whitaker.

He was the owner and operator of Ball Concrete of Ames. His special interests were his goats, dogs and flea markets.

He will be sadly missed by his son, Tony (Melanie) Ball, of Boone; 10 grandchildren, Jake, Kelsi, Kaden, Kyler, Koda and Kameron, Tanner and Dalton, and Isabelle and Zoe; his love, Sue Whitaker; three brothers, Clyde, Wayne and Tom; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Terry; one sister, Shirley; and one brother, Clifford.

A visitation will from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, at Stevens Memorial Chapel.
