Kristen (Baldus) Runyan, 30, of Boone, died Friday. Aug. 18, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Funeral services were today at Church of the Sacred Heart in Boone. Burial was in Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone.

Kristen was born April 15, 1976, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Maurice and Janice (Baker) Baldus. She graduated from Boone High School in 1994 and attended DMACC, Boone Campus. She married R. Scott Runyan Sept. 20, 1997, in Boone. She was employed as a receptionist in the radiology department at McFarland Clinic in Ames.

She is survived by her husband, R. Scott, one son, Cooper J., and one daughter, Rylee all of Boone; her father, Maurice Baldus, and stepmother, Beulah, and her mother, Janice McClain, and stepfather, Dave, all of Boone; four brothers, Doug Baldus, of Des Moines, Mark Baldus, of Tijeras, N.M., Mike Baldus, of Boone, and Jeremiah Baldus, of Ames; four sisters, Reenie Burke, of Ames, Cece Baldus and Jessica Baldus, both of Des Moines, and Cindy Baldus, of Boone; grandparents, Don and Joyce Baker, of Belleville, Mich.; her father-in-law, Robert Runyan, of Boone; her mother-in-law, Sue Trow, and husband, Jim, of Ames; and one sister-in-law, Gina Crisman of Story City.

An educational fund has been established for her children at Boone Bank & Trust, 716 Eighth Street, Boone, IA 50036.
