DEATH CLAIMS MRS.CHARLES E. PARKER FORMER RESIDENT OF MAXWELL

Funeral services were held at the Powell Presbyterian Church on Tuesday afternooon, August 17 at 2:30 for Mrs. Leota OLINGER PARKER, a resident of the Powell Community for the past fifteen years. She was the wife of Charles E. PARKER, for many years a bookkeeper and accountant at Powell and Cody. The husband, a son and a daughter survive to mourn Mrs. PARKER's passing.

Burial followed in the Cody cemetery, she had lived much of her prime of life at Cody where she took an active part in the Presbyterian church affairs. She was a member of Cedar Chapter, Cody Order Eastern Star, and at one time was it's worthy matron. She was in her earlier years a member of the Cody P.E.O. sisterhood and was for a term it's President.

For the past fifteen years the PARKERs have resided in Powell, but during the last ten years Mrs. PARKER has been in ill health, her life coming to a close last Friday evening. August 13 at the age of 70 years, 8 months and 12 days.

Maxwell, Iowa was Mrs. PARKER's old home Community, where she was reared as one of a family of six children in the home of G.W. and Elizabeth OLINGER. Leota Ellen OLINGER was MRs. PARKER's maiden name. She was born near the present town of Maxwell on the 1st of December 1877.

On the 15th day of June 1899 Leota OLINGER was married to Charles E. PARKER. To this union were born two children, namely; Charlott, who is now Mrs. Edward E. PIERCE of Powell; George E. PARKER of Steilacoom, Washington.

The family came from Iowa to Cody in 1905 as one of that town's early settlers. They went back to Iowa in 1912 and again came west in 1923, and their residence in Powell began in May of 1935.

Of the original family, Mrs. PARKER has one sister living; Mrs. Mary SHAFFER of Des Moines, Iowa. She is survived by one grandchild. Mary Ellen TURNER. The son George living in Washington, came to attend his mother's funeral
