NEVADA - Clare Lou (Mahn) Samson, 71, of Nevada, died Friday, June 23, 2006 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Clare was born May 23, 1935 at Manly, Iowa, the daughter of Lyle and Zola (Carmody) Mahn. She was united in marriage to Glen Samson November 17, 1952 in Story City, Iowa. Clare worked alongside her husband for over 35 years as bookkeeper in the S&M Appliance Store in Nevada. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Nevada. Clare enjoyed being with her grandchildren. Her hobbies include gardening, flowers, genealogy, wildlife and fishing.

She is survived by her husband, Glen, of Nevada, IA; a daughter: Denette (Brian) Bovey of Boone, IA; three sons: Curtis (Theresa) Samson of Ames, IA, Keith Samson of Nevada, IA, Tim (Julie) Samson of Boone, IA; 6 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; a brother: Jerry (Jean) Mahn of Florida; and 2 sisters: Marlene DeSantis of Florida and Pat Shineflew of Iowa Falls, IA.

Memorial services were held Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church in Nevada with Pastor Steve Williams officiating. Burial will be at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Clare Samson Memorial Fund.

Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada handled arrangements.
