Cora Kimberley

COLO - Cora Blanche Kimberley, 92, formerly of Colo, died Sunday, May 28, 2006 at the Hubbard Care Center in Hubbard, Iowa.

Cora was born April 24, 1914 in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of W. W. and Nealie C. (Bellis) Frankfurt. She was united in marriage to Harold S. Kimberley on June 12, 1934 in Omaha. Harold preceded Cora in death on January 5, 1995. Cora and her husband, Harold, developed Twin Anchors Campground and Restaurant form 1965 until 1975. Cora was a member of the Colo United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, and a number of civic organizations. She was a founding member of the Iowa Association of Private Campground Owners, and the Colo Blood Bank. Cora was an artist and enjoyed painting, needlework and gardening.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and John McGuire of Colo, IA; 2 grandchildren, Sean McGuire and Annie McGuire; 2 sisters-in-law, Minnie Maxwell of Washington, IA, and Olga Frankfurt of Chicago, IL; 2 nieces and 2 nephews.

Cora was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and 2 brothers, Wallace Frankfurt and Paul Frankfurt.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Thursday at the Colo United Methodist Church with a luncheon following. Burial will be in Peoria Cemetery near Maxwell at 1:00 PM.

The Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.

Paul Bellis Frankfurt of Chicago, IL, formerly of Colo, died of cancer in April, 2005, in Mesa, AZ. He lived briefly with his sister, Cora Kimberley, in Colo during the mid 1990's. He was a former FBI agent and an avid golfer. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Faythe, an infant daughter, and his brother, Wallace. He is survived by his wife, Olga, daughter, Judy, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
