Jim Olsson, 46, Ames, died of congestive heart disease on May 16, 2006 at Story County Medical Center in Nevada. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, May 20, 2006 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Ames with Father Terry Rassmussen presiding. Burial followed in Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Jim was born to Stan and Pat (Foley) Olsson on August 29, 1959 in Ames. He graduated from Ames High School in 1977. He was employed by Burke Marketing in Nevada for twenty-three years. He was a very devoted father and uncle. He enjoyed playing softball, golfing and spending time with friends and family.

He is survived by his son, Tyler; mother, Pat Olsson; brother, Matt Olsson; sisters, Julie (Shane) Keigley of North Carolina, Shelley (Fred) Rivers of Arizona, Carla (Charley) Turner, and Marlene (Chris) Austin; nieces and nephews, Lowell, Tyler, Traven, Freddie, Amanda, Jenna, Katie, P.J., Will and Logan.

He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a trust fund for his son, Tyler.
