THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, May 16, 2006.

Darlene (Suz) Juanita Walters, 80, of New Providence, died Sunday, May 14, at Colonial Manor in Zearing. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, at Zearing Christian Church. Burial will be in Eldora Cemetery.

Darlene was born in Webster City and lived in New Providence. She worked as a cook at Kappa Delta Sorority in Ames until she retired in 1975. She married Don Walters August 24, 1975, in Eau Claire, Wis.

She is survived by her husband, Don of New Providence; one son Donald (Rene) Springer of Osseo, Wis.; one daughter Susan (Kevin) Ruby of Roland; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lowell Thompson and Robert Thompson; and one nephew, Bobbie.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 tonight at Fredregill Funeral Home in Zearing.

Fredregill Funeral Home in Zearing is in charge of arrangements.
