Donald Sylvester Adams, 87, of Collins died of a heart ailment Saturday at St. Anthony Hospice in Amarillo, Texas. Services will be at noon Wednesday at Hamilton's Near Highland Memory Grdens Funeral Home in Des Moines. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Adams was born in Colfax andl ived in Collins 33 years, coming from Arizona and Texas. He retired from farming and as a punch press operator with Ford Motor Co.

Among survivors are his wife Margaret of Amarillo, Texas; nine sons, Richard Jr. of Maxwell, John of Macon, Ga., Robert of San Antonio, Texas, Donald Jr. of Des Moines, Dennis of Haddock, Ga., Ronnie of Byron, Ga., Jim of Marshalltown and Raymond and Jerry, both of Colo; four daughters, Sue Garcia of Washington, Ill., Beverly Wheeler of Radcliffe and Bonnie Carico and Margie Thrapp, both of Des Moines; two brothers, Danny and Harold, both of Des Moines; a sister, Dorothy Linnenkamp of Evansdale; 45 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.l

The family will visit with fiends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
