Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock for the late A. C. Adams, who passed away Tuesday at the home of his daughter Mrs. J. A. Lund, northeast of Collins. The services, in charge of the Rev. Charles Fix, were held at the Lund home.
The body ws taken to York, Neb., where services and interment will take palce Friday.
Alfred Clinton Adams was born in La Grange county, Ind., in 1849, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. A. Lund, Collins, Ia., on May 21, 1940.
When a small boy he came with his parents to Greencastle, Iowa, and here he grew to manhood. With many others of that day, he went to Nebraska, where he homesteaded in Hamilton county. After proving up his claim, he returned to Iowa for his bride, Susie Witmer, and together they started housekeeping on the newly-acquired homestead. Here they lived for 43 years.
To this unino were born four children: Mrs. Lorna De Vore of Bayard, Neb.; Mrs. Hazel Lund of Collins, Ia.; Mrs. Muriel Brugh of Y ork, Neb., and Claire Adams of Lodgepole, Neb. He is also survived by one brother, Duncan Adams, of Mindo, Ia., 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
In 1925 they moved to York, Neb., where Mrs. Adams died Nov. 8, 1936. Since then Mr. Adams has made his home with the children.
Forty-three years ago he united with the Methodist church at Phillips, later transferring to the York, Neb., church.
