THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, April 25, 2006.

Daniel Webster Eshelman, 79, has gone to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Friday, April 21.

He left behind the mother of his children, Edwina Berniece Eshelman of Ames; five sons, John (Kathy), Frank (Vicki), Ronald (Nancy), James, all of Des Moines, and Bob of Nevada; four daughters, Karen Humenburger (Hans) of Waukesha, Wis., Virginia Goll (Ron) of Ames, Nancy Lauritzen (Greg) and Catherine Scott (Jim) of Nevada; 29 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; one brother, Clyde of Langhorne, Pa., and one sister, Barbara Gower of Lebanon, Pa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; one daughter; one grandson; and three great granddaughters.

He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and drove a semi truck for more than 50 years.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, April 28, with funeral service at 11 a.m. at Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada. Burial, with full military rites, will follow in Nevada Municipal Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the entire staff at the Veterans Palliative Care in Knoxville for their excellent care.

He will be greatly missed.
