THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Wednesday, April 19, 2006.

Inga R. Wallize, 53, of Iowa City, died Monday, April 17, in her home after a long illness.

Inga chose to be cremated. Her family will host a greeting time to celebrate her life from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, April 21, at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to Iowa City Hospice or the American Cancer Society.

Inga was born Nov. 11, 1952, in Denver, Colo., the daughter of John and Susan (West) Wallize. She received a bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Iowa in 1975. She worked as an oncology nurse at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics until taking medical retirement in 2002. She married Gary Ullrich May 21, 1983, in Ames.

She is survived by her husband, Gary of Iowa City; her children, Susan Ullrich and Jeffrey Ullrich, both of Iowa City; her father and step-mother, John and Dottie Wallize of Ames; two sisters, Pamela Wallize of Minneapolis and Lee Smith and her husband, Jude, of Dallas; sisters and brothers in law, Vickie and Mike Ballard of Altoona and Hank Ullrich of Des Moines; one niece, Nikki; one nephew, Justin; and four great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother and her father- and mother-in-law.
