HUGGINS, MINNIE M. LANHOFF (MRS. CHARLES E. HUGGINS) (1883-1920)

Dallas Center Times, Dallas Center, Dallas County, Iowa, Thursday, July 1, 1920, page 4. “Mrs. C. E. Huggins – Minnie M. Langhoff was born on October 3, 1883, at Bloomington, Ill., and parted this life at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines, June 15, 1920, at the age of 37 years, 8 months and 12 days. On August 24, 1903, she was united in marriage to C. E. Huggins. To this union six children were born: Erma, Louis, Ralph, Milton, Lester and Harold. She united with the First Presbyterian church while a young girl and remained a faithful member until death came. She was also a member of Rebekah Lodge No. 481. She had been in failing health for four years ad was taken to the hospital on June 9. She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, six children, one sister, Mrs. Anna Bolger and three brothers, Fred, Frank, and Ernie Langhoff. Those who attended the funeral from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. M. D. Grady and Frank, Fred and Ernie Langhoff, Mrs. Lena Welling, W. L. Huggins, and William Schewen of Bloomington, Ill.; and Mrs. Anna Bolger of Chicago. The funeral was held at Dallas Center June 18 at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. H. D. Robinson of Maxwell, assisted by Rev. M. H. Keast of the M. E. church. The pall bearers were Will Harris, Fred Schultze, Frank Tingley, Clyde Collins, Levi Morgan and Rolla Paul. Interment was made in the Dallas Center cemetery. – Card of Thanks – We wish to express to our friends and neighbors, also the Odd Fellow and Rebekah Lodges our gratitude for their kindness in so many ways and for the beautiful floral tributes.
