VOLUNTEERS FROM HOWARD TOWNSHIP IN THE CIVIL WAR.
Editor Roland Record:-
When so many of our newspaper publishers of the County and State are turning over the musty files of their issues of the long ago in search of something interesting and historical, it may be well to remember that Howard Township has a past record, one short chapter of which I send you for publication if acceptable. This I believe is a complete roster of the volunteers who enlisted from Howard Twp. to serve in the Union Army during the war of the Great Rebellion from '61 to '65.
It has taken me some time to complete this list and in doing so I have consulted with some of the few remaining veterans and citizens and to Comerade John Ritland I am especially indebted for able assistance.
The roll is as follows:COMPANY 'K' 32 INFANTRY

When we remember that Howard Township was but sparsely settled during those years, most of it being wild unbroken prairie with few homes as compared with the present we can consider this list a very creditable showing.Yours truly,
