Christ Olson Family
Christ Olson and Carrie Larson were both born in Stavanger, Norway. They came to America in 1867 and were married in Seneca, Illinois in 1871, where they farmed a few years before moving to Story County. They bought a farm four miles south west of McCallsburg and farmed until 1910 when they retired from farming and moved into McCallsburg. They moved into the home purchased from the Ed Fenn family. This home is now occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Olson's great grandson, Terry Thompson and family. Mr. Olson was born in 1845 and passed away in 1917. Mrs. Olson was born in 1844 and passed away in 1920.

Their children were: O.E.C. Olson, a son by Mr. Olson's first wife, Martin Olson, Lars Olson, Christina (Mrs. Ole Pederson), Carl Olson, Henry Olson, Ole Olson, and Thomas Olson. They are all deceased except Ole, who now lives in Albert Lea, Minnesota. There are 31 living grandchildren of which one, Mrs. Emma Ellingson lives in McCallsburg.
