The Morgan Olson Family
Morgan Olson was born in 1883 at Marseilles, Illinois. He came to McCallsburg in 1892 with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. O.W. Olson. He was married to Byrde Bryant of Zearing at Marshalltown, Iowa, in 1906. He and his wife had the restaurant, where the Laundromat is now located. Their three oldest children were born in the living quarters over the restaurant. He also worked in the Dillin Store and Baer Store before his marriage. In 1913 he started to farm and farmed near McCallsburg until 1949 when he retired and moved to McCallsburg. He and Mrs. Olson had seven children. Mrs. Olson passed away in 1951, and Mr. Olson in 1966. Two boys preceded them in death. They were Wayne in 1918 and Weston in 1955. There are five children surviving, Mrs. Vera Adams, Mrs. Velda Patakotis, Velma Olson, Lt. Col. Wendell Olson, and Warren Olson.
