In Response To: Towns (Paul Farnsworth)

Mary J Farnsworth is not listed in the Cemetery indexes for both Sioux and Plymouth Counties, but with help from the Northwest Iowa Genealogy Society (Plymouth County), the index for the LeMars Sentinel lists the death of Mary J. Farnsworth in Feb 16, 1915 paper. From the above date, the microfilm for "Transcript of Deaths for Sioux County" was reviewed and the following information was located. In Logan Township and the town of Chatsworth, A Mrs.M.J. Farnworth, a Widow with a birth date of Jan 19, 1833, Birth Place - Pennsylvania, Name of Father - Nelson Rice, Maiden Name of Mother - Miss Crowl, Date of Death - Feb 9, 1915 from Chronic Bronchitis, Attending Physician - Chas. L. Roland, place of Burial - Highmore, South Dakota (about 50 miles east and north of Pierre, South Dakota) on Feb 12, 1915, Undertaker - W.H. Christy of Akron, Iowa. Akron, Iowa is located about 7 miles south of Chatsworth, Iowa in Plymouth County. I think Highmore, South Dakota is the County seat of Hyde County, South Dakota.

If you like a copy of this page of the "Transcript of Deaths in Sioux County", we will need your mailing address.
