Adopted children

I am not really sure how to do this, but i have adopted two girls who are supposed to be Native Americans. I belive is how i would say that.

I have spoken to their Great Gradmother who lives in Jakson ho Wyoming and says that her mother was of the Sioux indian. I am trying to help these girls sucseed in life and am wondering how to research there back ground for them. I am not sure where to start and would like to speak to someone re this.
