Hi, my name is Tom Vanderstoop I live in Whitby, Ontario, Canada.
I was born in Haarlem Holland and emigrated to Canada 1n 1968. As I was surfing my family name I came across your Website.
Really interesting and I was wondering if there were any Vanderstoops that knew their origin, meaning their Dutch ancestors birthplace and how and when they arrived in Iowa.
My side of the family is from Noord Holland.
Also I believe the spelling Vanderstoep is a variant of Vanderstoop as it is spelled phonetically in Dutch the way the English pronounciation sounds. In Dutch the name sounds like Van der stope. If you can find anyone who cares to respond to this it would be appreciated.
