I couldn't find Willem after the 1920 census when he was living with the August Bruggeman family in Lyon County IA as a hired hand.
The name could be misspelled so that it can't be readily found.
I couldn't reference him on the Lyon County site either.
I would try to contact some living Bruggemans from the phone book. Go to www.switchboard.com and then put in the last name of Bruggeman living in Iowa. Try the towns of Rock Rapids, Larchwood and Inwood. There are some Bruggemans living there. I don't want to give their names and address on the web. They may know or remember Willem Hawinkle, Hawinckel etc.
He could have died or returned to Holland, as he was single yet in 1920.
