I believe the history of that statue is revealed in the centennial book of Hospers, which is still available at the city office in Hospers Iowa. I am not home right now. I or someone else from our GSCGS society will get back to you on this after Thanksgiving. We will be adding a WWI part to the military part of our site soon. That would be a good entry. Wilma J.
