Don't know just who I am answering in this thread of information on the Hoogeterps but found some info for you.
1900 census Sioux County IA Village of HOspers, Floyd Township page 55.
Hoogeterp, Hilbrand b. Apr 1859, age 41 marriage 16 years b. Holland, came in 1893 to USA He was a book seller. His wife was Seke or Anke? b. May 1864 age 36, married 16 years. Eight children born to her, five living, she was born in the Netherlands and came in 1892. (A bit confusing if married 16 years how could they have come different years, her before him??) Children listed were: Freddie b. Sept 1886 13 yrs, Broer, son Oct 1893 age 6, Tryntje Jul 1895, Jan, son Oct 1897 2 yrs, Ray dau. b. Jun 1899 1 yrs.

I have also found them in the 1910 census.
