Mrs. John W. Jungers, 86, died June 4 at a Sheldon Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Services were June 7, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Hospers. The Reverend Eugene Ceperly officiated. Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery under the direction of Vander Ploeg Funeral Homeof Sioux Center. Rosaries were said at Anthony’s parish hall.

Mrs. Jungers, the former Angeline Langenhorst was born April 20, 1890, in Luanna, Iowa. In 1894, she moved to Hospers, where she spent most of her life.

She was married to Harry Schaffhausen May 12, 1914. He died January 7, 1922. She was married to Peter Jungers in 1923, and he died in 1932. She then married John W. Jungers on January 20, 1934. He died in 1965.

Mrs. Jungers was the first telephone operator in Hospers. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Guild, Christian Mothers Society and Catholic Daughters of America.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Edwin (Ethel) Jungers, Mrs. Fred (Lucinda) Full of Taumton, Minnesota, and Mrs. Milo (Valeria) Streff of Alton; three step-daughters, Mrs. John Huygens of Hospers and Mrs. James Easterling and Mrs. Henry Dugas, both of Lemon Grove, California; two sons, Lloyd Schaffhausen of Chicago and Walter Jungers of Minneapolis; three step-sons, Joe Jungers of Van Nuys, California, Ambrose Jungers of Los Angeles, California and Sylvester Jungers of Milford; 45 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren.
