Denver, CO: Linda Kay Boogerd, 64, of Denver, Colorado, died Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at The Denver Hospice Inpatient Care Center at Lowry. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Calvin Christian Reformed Church of Rock Valley with Rev. Gideon Wamala officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery of Rock Valley. Visitation, with the family present, will be held one hour prior to the funeral from 10:00-11:00 AM at church. Memorials may be given to Rock Valley Christian School.
 
Linda Kay Boogerd, daughter of James Bartel and Marie (Van Oosbree) Boogerd, was born March 17, 1953 in Sioux Center, Iowa. She grew up in Rock Valley and graduated from Western Christian High School in Hull. At 21 she moved to Denver, Colorado and in 1983 received her Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Colorado. Linda enjoyed reading, refinishing furniture, sewing, and needlework.
 
Linda worked for the federal government for 35 years, retiring in 2013. She worked for the United States Department of Labor, United States Office of Personnel Management as an investigator, United States Investigations Services, and the Department of Veteran Affairs. Working for the federal government gave Linda the opportunity to live in every western state except Alaska, Washington, Oregon, and Nevada. She also worked in both of the Carolinas and Georgia. Linda received training in Texas, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and Washington, DC. She was able to see a good portion of the United States first hand.
 
She is survived by her mother, Marie Boogerd of Rock Valley; seven siblings, Rev. Dennis John (Doris) Boogerd of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, James David (Sheryl) Boogerd of Rock Valley, Marilyn Beth (George) Caswell of Inwood, Iowa, Robert Wayne (Lori) Boogerd of Rock Valley, William “Buzz” Earl Boogerd of Rock Valley, Elizabeth “Betty” Jane (Doug) Elgersma of Sanborn, Iowa, and Rachel Annette (John) Bergeland of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews. Linda was preceded in death by her father, James Bartel Boogerd and niece, Lisa Wielenga.
