Mabel (Sipma) Eason
Mrs. George Eason, 88, of Alton, died Wednesday at the home of her daughter in West Des Moines following a brief illness.
Services were held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the Van Gelder Funeral Home in Orange City. The Rev. Edmund W. Tratebas officiated. Burial was in Nassau Township Cemetery at Alton.
Special music was a duet sung by Marian Mitchell and Sylvia Kiernan. They were accompanied by Mrs. Karen Boeyink.
Casket bearers were Harold Hammerstrom, Roger Roghair, Ernie Eason, Harvey Vander Pol, Wayne Eason and Norman Eason.
Mrs. Eason, the former Mabel Sipma, was born Sept. 26, 1892 at rural Alton. Mr. Eason died in 1961.
She was a member of the Alton Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Joe (Lois) Crook of West Des Moines; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
(Note-George Eason was a son of Stephen and Susan Pool Eason.)
