George Stephen Eason

George Stephen Eason, 89, died April 18, 2004, at his home in Orlando, Fla.

A memorial service was held on May 1 at One Thousand Oaks, Orlando, Fla. and there will be one in Alton in early July.

George was born in Alton. He farmed for 20 years. In 1960, he joined the U. S. State Department and retired to Orlando after extensive assignments abroad providing agricultural aid to third world countries.

Mr. Eason was a member of Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Koeli Leela; sons, David Eason of Cocoa, Fla.; daughters, Karen Eason Patterson of Parker, Colo. and Wendy Eason Jansen of Olympia, Wash.; a sister, Mildred Moorhead of Cherokee; brothers, Norman Eason of Alton and Wayne Eason, of Orange City; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
(Note--George is the son of Oscar Eason and first wife, Grace Ella Moir. His brothers are the sons of Oscar's second wife, Susan Freriks.)
