He looked forward to spending time with his family and was an important part of his nieces and nephews’ lives, as well as their children’s lives. He loved going to morning coffee at the local café and will be fondly remembered by his family and friends for his welcoming personality and ability to befriend almost everyone he met.

Survivors include his siblings, Ronald Schipper, of Hospers; JoAnne, and her husband, Richard Roiko, of Sebeka, Minnesota; Jay Schipper, and his wife, Judy; and Jim Schipper, and his wife, Mavis, all of Hospers; a sister-in-law, Deb Schipper, of Rapid City, South Dakota; and many nieces and nephews and their families.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister in infancy; a brother, Marvin Schipper; and a nephew, David Schipper.
