Mrs. Nicole “Nikki” Green, age 29, of Le Mars, formerly of Orange City, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024, at her home.

There will be a celebration of Nikki’s life on Friday, March 22, at 10:30am, at the Trinity Reformed Church in Orange City, with the Rev. Dr. Brian Keepers officiating. A luncheon and time of visitation and fellowship with the family will follow the service, at the church, until 2:00pm. The Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City is in charge of arrangements.

Nicole Erin was born on April 21, 1994, in Council Bluffs, the daughter of Daniel Leroy and Dianna Lee (Stogdill) Zika. She was raised in Council Bluffs and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. She then attended Northwestern College in Orange City, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration and sports management and played soccer all four years.

On July 25, 2015, she was united in marriage to Benjamin Todd Green in Council Bluffs. They made their home in Orange City. In 2018, they moved to Le Mars, where their two daughters were born, and she worked for Northwestern College as an advisor for the master’s program and coached varsity soccer for the Le Mars Community High School.

They were members of the Trinity Reformed Church in Orange City, where she often worked in the nursery and greeted on Sunday mornings. Together, they enjoyed playing coed volleyball and softball, and spending time with their daughters.

Survivors include her husband of more than eight years, Ben Green, and their two daughters, Brittley and Rhylan Green, all of Le Mars; her parents and their spouses, Daniel and Deb Zika and Dianna and John Schnackenberg, all of Council Bluffs; a sister, Stefani Zika, of Council Bluffs; two step-sisters, Emily, and her husband, Pedro Flores; and Sarah Fields, all of Council Bluffs; a grandmother, Virgene Stogdill, of Council Bluffs; a step-grandmother, Wanita Zika, of Council Bluffs; Ben’s parents, Vince Green and Pam Green, both of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; his brother and his wife, Jacob and Alyssa Green, of Portland, New York; his sister and her husband, Lauren and Sean Powell, of Omaha, Nebraska; his grandparents, Martin and Shirley Wierda, of Sioux Center; and Doris Green, of Sioux Falls; and nine nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Gib Stogdill and Jim Zika; and Ben’s grandfather, Norman Green.

Memorials will be given to the family for future designation.
