Aaron Vande KampCharles A. Vande Kamp, 66, of Sioux Center, IA died Saturday, August 5, 2000 at his home.
Charles was born to Albert and Marie (De Boom) Vande Kamp on July 21, 1934 in Sioux Center. He honorably served in the US Marine Corp. He married Hermina Kruid on June 1, 1956 in Ireton, IA. She passed away on July 7, 1957. He married Joleen Klynsma on September 1, 1960 in Hospers, IA. They lived in Hospers. He owned and operated Van's Candy Vending Service and also worked at OK One Stop. He served as city council member and Mayor of Hospers. He was a board member of Hospers Christian School and was a Cadet Counselor. he was also a member and custodian of the Hospers Christian Reformed Church. They moved to Sioux Center in 1991. He was employed at De Jong Hardware, Van's Poultry,and the City of Sioux Center. He was a member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church. he enjoyed hunting, fishing, putzing in the garden, reading, and watching baseball.
Survivors include: his wife, Joleen, of 39 years; three sons, Arlin and Julie of Sioux Falls, SD; Carl and Brenda of Sioux Center, David and Jaci of Sioux Falls; one daughter, Lynn and Mike Clark of Dallas, TX. Eight grandchildren: Samantha, Jade, Aaron, Autumn, Jenna, Coral, and Danielle vande Kamp and Cara Lynn Clark. Two sisters: Jeanne and Dorman Koel of Rock Rapids, Mary and H John Davelaar of Sibley, three brothers: Gary and Arlis of George, Alwayne and Freddy of Sun Lakes, AZ, Lyle and Joan of Sioux Center: stepbrothers and step sisters: Don and Alyda Wassenar of Sheldon, Wilhelmina Kraayenbrink of Hull, and Henrich and Marilyn Kraayenbrink of Sioux Center; & many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in deathby his parents, sister-in-law, Jean, and stepbrother, Asa.from obit.
