Sioux Center, IA: Warren Lee Post, 75, of Sioux Center, Iowa, died Monday, February 5, 2024, at Hegg Health Center in Rock Valley, Iowa. Visitation with the family present will be held Thursday, February 8, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Carmel Reformed Church of rural Rock Valley. A prayer service will be held Friday, February 9, at 9:30 AM at the church with burial and military rites to follow at Carmel Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, at Carmel Reformed Church with Rev. Bill Loefke and Mark Van Voorst officiating.

Warren Lee Post was born March 24, 1948, to Walter & Henrietta (Wesselink) Post in Le Mars, Iowa. Warren was raised with three siblings, Deanne, Darwin, and Faith on the family farm west of Sioux Center, Iowa, where he spent the remainder of his life. Warren graduated from Sioux Center Community High School in 1966 where he proudly served as the FFA President. He continued his education at a trade school, graduating in 1968. Warren proudly served in the U.S. Army in the 82nd Airborne Infantry from 1968-1970. Warren married Fonda Broek on September 11, 1970. From their marriage, three children were born: Arlin, Angie, and Nicole. Warren was a farmer, who also had many other jobs. Following the September 11 attacks on the Twin Towers, Warren would occasionally kid Fonda that all the flags were at half-staff just for their wedding anniversary.

Warren was a lifelong member of Carmel Reformed Church, where he served as an RCYF leader, Catechism & Sunday School teacher, as well as an Elder for the church. Though Warren was a quiet man, he held a faith that was VERY MUCH alive and had a way of portraying that faith so that his students could see it when he taught. He also enjoyed serving as a Plato township trustee. Warren has been known for many things throughout the years. Faithful husband, caring father, welder, craftsman, and Dad who fixes it or can make it better, and also the best hug-giver ever! Warren will forever be remembered as Santa to many around Christmas time. He had a belly laugh that was contagious and a mischievous smirk that let you know he was always up to something. Warren enjoyed many things: family camping trips, car shows, using his smoker, riding motorcycles with friends, and the Thursday night riders. He loved to learn and spent his entire life learning.

The legacy of Warren will live on through Fonda, his wife of 53 years; son, Arlin and Kelly (Van Veldhuizen) Post and their son, Elijah; daughter, Nicole and Dave Wielenga and their sons, Wyatt, Eli, and Austin; brother Darwin and Lorraine Post; sisters-in-law, Judy Nibbelink, Diane and Arlin Van De Berg, and Kathy and Loren Velgersdyk; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and oh so many friends.

Warren was greeted in heaven by his daughter, Angela Post; parents, Walter and Henrietta (Wesselink) Post; parents-in-law, Cornie and Berdie (Hulstein) Broek; sisters and their husbands, Deanne and Dick Van Zee and Faith and Dick Franken; brother-in-law, Harv Nibbelink; and also his best friend, Arlin Franken.
