Dean Douglas Rodenburgh was born on October 3, 1967, in Le Mars, Iowa, the son of Johannes “Hans” and Evelyn Rae (Van Voorst) Rodenburgh. He graduated from high school in Colorado. As a child he had many wonderful memories of early school days. He was fond of his walks to school “uphill both ways,” elementary school teachers and the neighborhood cookie lady in Sioux City, IA. He enjoyed playing with siblings, friends, and cousins and he poured his heart into every moment. Those days included baseball, flying model airplanes, fishing, helping dad with his toy train, riding bikes, playing games and playing with the kite that reached the heavens. He was always outside playing larger than life.

After moving from Sioux City, IA to Orange City, IA he gained new friendships. Days were spent chasing around on mopeds, swimming at the Boyden Pit and Sandy Hollow. He started working with his dad at the appliance repair shop. Dean then followed his dad to Colorado where they loved to hike. This is where he was able to climb twelve of the “14ers.” He loved racquetball and was very competitive. To us Colorado will always be our Deano.

Following high school, Dean excelled as one of the top Salespersons at multiple companies, His name was always on the top of the Leader Board. His personality was so genuine, honest, and cared deeply that he was only selling to those it would benefit.

On September 20, 1996, Dean and Brenda Gunn were united in marriage at Denver, CO. They made their home in the Denver Metro area and in 2016 they were drawn to Parker, CO to be closer to family.

Most important to Dean was his faith and family. He was proud of his Dutch heritage and Christian upbringing. He was a lover of music and had an extensive collection. He also enjoyed assembling stereo equipment for himself and others.

Grateful to have shared his life is his wife, Brenda of Parker, CO; a daughter and her husband, Heather and Sam Ngure of Phoenix, AZ; a grandchild, Julian Ngure of Phoenix, AZ; his mother, Evelyn Rae Rodenburgh of Le Mars, IA; sisters, Monica (Randy) Engeltjes of Sioux Falls, SD and Paula (Jeff Morgan) Owens of Kellogg, IA; brothers, Mark (Kierra) Rodenburgh of Waterloo, IA and Ian Rodenburgh of Salt Lake City, UT; nieces and nephews included Ryan (Lacey) Engeltjes, Brent Gunn Jr., Christiane “Chrissy” (Taylor) Ely, Kyla (Khyyam) Crawford, Brianna Owens, Raelynn (ShauRome Taylor Jr.) Owens, Traer (Zoe Lennox) Owens, Lane Rodenburgh, and Reese Rodenburgh; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hans Rodenburgh; and grandparents, Leonard “Lane” and Wilmina (Baartse) Rodenburgh and Andrew “Andy” and Darlene Van Voorst; and a great-nephew, Kaeggin.
