John Kuyper one of the oldest and most highly respected businessmen of Orange City, died Thursday morning April 8 at the age of 69 years. He came to Orange City from Pella in 1871 and was one of the first postmasters at Orange City, He is survived by his wife two sones and one daughter.

He was the son of Arie Cornelis Kuyper 1810-1880 and Maria Adrianna Streefkerk 1806-1863. He married Gysbertje Muilenburg 1853-1952, children were – Arie Cornelius Kuyper 1874-1884, Huibert Kuyper 1877-1965, Maria Kuyper 1880-1960, Arie Kuyper 1884-1971 and Cornelis Jan Kuyper 1887-1888.
