Last week Mr. passed away. Hendrik Geurink was over 81, and was buried on Friday under the leadership of Rev. De Jong. Attendance and interest were high; many, also from elsewhere, were present. Father Geurink family has the community's sympathy . Served as an Elder in the 30's. The community Loses a member, and kind and a courageous father. May the Lord comfort them in strength, and make them joyful and strong, and patient to such a father that was given to you for so long

Hendrik Geurink was born 24 Jun 1838 Wisch Gelderland Netherlands and died 14 may 1919 Alton IA. He married Grada Groot Nibbelink 1843-1900, they had three children Berendina Geurink 1872-1927, Wilhelmina Hendrika 1875-1913 and Hattie 1883-1932.
